Welcome to Awesome Editing

Whether you need a fiction or non-fiction manuscript editing, you have come to the right place.

About us

We are a team of experienced editors, proofreaders, writers, English language teachers and translators. We are experts in both US and British English and we now also have Italian translators.

We work with books (fiction and non-fiction), short stories, plays/screenplays, dissertations, essays, websites, blogs, articles, press releases and much more. We can edit, proofread and provide copy writing. We are also experts at working with people who use English as a second language. Some of our team have many years’ experience teaching English as a second language. We also translate from Italian into English and vice versa.

For fiction, we edit and advise on grammar, paragraphs, style, register, dialogue, interior monologue, proportion, point of view, show and tell, characterisation and exposition, beats, repetition, sophistication and voice. We also look out for any holes in the plot and advise on how to fix them. We do not detract from your unique style – we work with it, polishing and bringing out the diamond from the rough.

Typically, an 80,000-word novel will take around two weeks to edit. We are fast but we don’t rush! We are perfectionists and take great pride in our work.

We will also be happy to write a thorough review of your work and post it on any website you like.

Our chief editor, Daniel Kenyon, has nearly twenty years’ experience as a writer, editor, creative writing tutor and an English language teacher. He has a degree in English Literature, a diploma in proofreading and editing, a diploma in creative writing and a TEFL certificate – all three with distinction. He currently translates (from Italian), proofreads and edits, for the Guardian newspaper and has worked with The New York Times, The Washington Post and Time Magazine. He also teaches English as a foreign language. He has worked as a journalist and is a crime writer and the author of The Bare Knuckle Fighter and The Savage Heart of Palermo.
